Beware of the Eyes of March and Other Moot Points...

I know, I know, it's the "ides of March" the day Julius Caesar was killed. But from the look of this bust of Ceasar, maybe it should be the eyes of March!

According to Wikipedia, March 15th - the ides of March in the Roman calendar was the day the full moon fell on which was quite an auspicious day for the Romans.

After having a laugh over this misuse of this phrase, I came across some interesting reading on other gems in Fifteen Mangled and Misused Phrases which lead me to a plethora of other c ommonly Misused Words and Phrases.
